CCHR Louisiana is a state chapter of CCHR International, a non-profit, non-political, non-religious watchdog group monitoring the mental health industry.

The goal of CCHR is the elimination of abuses that are now being perpetrated under the guise of mental health. In cases around the world, we have had success enacting patient protections and curbing practitioner harm through legislative and law enforcement actions.

We invite the public to inform us of abuses in the field of mental health so that we can launch our own investigations. We are particularly interested in reports of the damaging outcome of false diagnoses and unwanted or harmful psychiatric treatments of these or other types:

  • Psychiatric drugs
  • Shock treatment (Electroconvulsive therapy / ECT)
  • Electronic or magnetic brain stimulation, such as:
    • Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS)
    • Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS)
    • Vagus Nerve Stimulation (VNS)

CCHR can assist an individual or attorney with filing complaints. We may also be able to help a patient’s attorney investigate a case of harm at the hands of a psychiatrist.

If you or anyone you know has suffered harm as a result of psychiatric or mental health treatment, please fill out a report and mail it to us.
